Every year, Sustainia identifies innovative and groundbreaking solutions from around the world within 10 different sectors. The 100 most outstanding sustainable solutions are selected and published in the annual Sustainia100 list. From this list, a committee led by Arnold Schwarzenegger selects the solution of the year, which will receive the Sustainia Award.
Corporations, organizations, researchers, community groups, citizens, schools, start-ups and anyone with a sustainable solution can enter – and yes, you can nominate your own project – In fact, you should! The campaign, Sustainia100, is open to submissions in at least one of 10 categories: buildings, food, fashion, transportation, IT, education, energy, health, cities and resources.
Sustainia100 looks for solutions, projects, technologies and business models that hold inspirational value – that can win both hearts and minds. Guidelines for successful nominations are that the solution should be readily available, have a positive environmental impact, be financially viable, have the ability to improve quality of life and have scalability potential.
Sustainia is on a mission to make the world see the benefits of sustainable living. Working with companies, organizations, NGOs and institutions to provide an overview of available solutions in their fields as well as the benefits and arguments for green practices – Sustainia aims to accelerate transformation to a sustainable economy and to create a vision of what a sustainable future could look like.
Nominations for the Sustainia100 list of 2013 can be made here: www.sustainia.me/submission-form/ and the deadline is 22 March 2013.
