Russell Galt and Jane Goodall share 99 Seconds on Biodiversity

According to Russell Galt who works for the world’s largest network of local governments for sustainability, ICLEI, “biodiversity constitutes the very foundations upon which our societies prosper.”
In this video Russell Galt explains some of the benefits of biodiversity for businesses and local governments, in terms of both environmental and economic benefits – and gives the example of how green roofs and green walls in buildings can help save costs related to heating and cooling through natural temperature regulation and how urban forests and urban vegetation can help mitigate the urban heat island effect experienced in some cities.

In the video below, primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall, who has dedicated much of her life to protecting wildlife and biodiversity, shares her thoughts about the importance of reaching young people to raise new generations who care about sustainability and nature.
