Aid by Trade Foundation

AidByTradeFoundation

Based on the conviction of safeguarding the future of coming generations and protecting vital resources only through sustainable development, Dr. Michael Otto established the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) in 2005. The mission of the Aid by Trade Foundation is to promote environmental protection and the improvement of social conditions in developing countries. With its Cotton made in Africa initiative, the foundation strives to implement its goal of helping people help themselves through trade. Since 2005, it has been successful in its mission to improve the living conditions of a growing number of African smallholder farmers by activating market forces and to put a positive and recognizable “face” on the anonymous mass-product cotton in international trade.
