Description: The University of Cape Town’s Underwater Club is hosting a speaker series on the State of Our Oceans called ‘The Bottom of the Line’, during April and May 2013. Speakers on Wednesday 15 May are Michael Marriott and Wisaal Osman.

Michael Marriott of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) will be speaking on ‘MSC: what’s in an Eco-label?’ The MSC is a global certification and eco-labeling programme that is helping to change the way the world’s oceans are fished, by creating markets for fisheries that can demonstrate sustainable practices.

Wisaal Osman is WWF South Africa’s seafood consumer outreach officer and wil be speaking on ‘If you’re eating seafood, do you know what you’re catching?
