Description: The IHA World Congress on Advancing Sustainable Hydropower is the leading international event for all hydropower stakeholders. It takes place every two years and focuses on practical experiences, policy and solutions to tackle climate, water and energy challenges. The Congress goes beyond an industry conference and includes representatives from governments, NGOs, international organisations and financial institutions, providing the ideal backdrop for progressive exchanges on hydropower development. It is complemented by a workshop on Hydropower and Regional Development as well as other side events focusing on sustainability and strategy.
A unique opportunity to connect and share knowledge
The Congress represents a unique opportunity for decision makers to connect and share knowledge on hydropower and related topics. Bringing together key players from around the world, the Congress focuses on enlightening leadership on challenges and solutions within the sector. Congress sessions are interactive, giving high priority to exchanges between participants and panellists. The event is intended not only to be informative but it is designed to test current strategies and to stimulate future thinking.
Over the three days of debates and open exchanges, thought-leaders will discuss issues such as:
- financing models
- hydropower development
- energy policy
- water policy
- climate change
This year’s Congress takes place in Kuching and all registered participants will have access to the Congress’ three major components: a core set of plenary sessions and a choice of focus sessions, the exhibition area and the pre-Congress Networking tour. A unique opportunity to join a Post-Congress Study Tour will also be available at an additional charge. As a key stakeholder in Hydropower, we encourage you to register immediately to be part the world’s most influential gathering of Hydropower decision makers.
