Description: The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) has the honor of inviting you to the 2018 KIPPRA annual regional conference titled Building Resilience to Mitigate the Impact of Drought and Floods to be held at the Hilton Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya on 5-7 June 2018

As presented in Sustainable Development Goal 13, taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts forms, is a global priority. This Conference, while focusing on drought and floods, aims to share experiences in responding to emergencies, explore existing gaps in policy and institutional structures that hinder building resilience to avoid disasters from such events, as well as learn from various initiatives what else is required to enhance coordination among the various key players. The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis will also share results from a comprehensive survey undertaken in Kenya to bring out the economic costs of drought and floods occurrences, coping mechanism adopted by affected communities, role and coordination of various key players in supporting to build resilience, policy and institutional gaps.
