Description: Energy efficiency is essential to ensure a secure and sustainable energy supply. This training looks into the economic, strategic, and environmental motivations that push private companies and governments to develop new professional figures to reach ambitious energy saving targets. Additionally, participants will learn about the powerful impact of energy efficient technologies on competitiveness and energy costs. They will practice both technical and managerial tasks needed in energy saving projects in the industrial and building sectors.

  • Energy standards for buildings: definition of energy certification, issuance of building certificates, examples of energy standards, EPBD and ENEV 
  • Energy efficient solutions for industry: cross sectional technologies for industry: compressors, pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, engines, lamps, best available techniques, economic analysis 
  • Energy efficient solutions for industrial processes: description of the industrial process, best available techniques, economic analysis 
  • Energy efficient solutions for buildings: facts and trends, energy usages in buildings, classification of buildings, energy efficient solutions: passive side and active side
  • From Passive houses to the energy plus buildings: Design and dimensioning criteria, integration with renewable energies, technical and economic feasibility, examples and case studies 
  • Financing energy efficient projects: energy data and trends, profitability calculation, static methods, dynamic methods, life cycle costing, laws and regulations, financing
