Description: The Contaminated Land provisions in the National Environmental Management: Waste Act 59 of 2008 came into effect on 2 May 2014. On 2 May 2014 the Minister also published the revised National Norms and Standards for the remediation of contaminated land and soil quality.
IMBEWU is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a workshop on the legal implications of the Contaminated Land provisions on Thursday 10 July 2014 in Johannesburg with technical input from Jones & Wagener.
The workshop is designed to provide a high-level and practical overview of the implications of the Contaminated Land provisions and regulations and will cover:
- The legal & technical complexities of contaminated land;
- Suggestions for the practical management of legal risks relating to contaminated sites; and
- Key issues for management’s consideration.
The workshop will be focused, practical and interactive.
This is a cost and time effective workshop which will provide the necessary background and strategic understanding of the effects and consequences of contaminated land in South Africa and will assist in understanding the environmental legal risks and environmental legal compliance requirements within your area of work and expertise.
